Saturday Band Schedule

Miss Freddye’s Blues Band

Singing the Chicago style blues since 1996, I have become known as “Pittsburgh’s Lady of the Blues!” My influences are Delta and Chicago style blues, from artists of yester-year like Koko Taylor, Etta James, Big Mama Thornton, Bessie Smith, Sarah Vaughn, Denise Lasalle, and Memphis Minnie.

I started singing with BMW (Blues music works) headed by Al “Big Al” Leavitt. In 2002, I formed my own band, “Blue Faze.” The next several years the name changed to “Miss Freddye’s Blues Band.”
In addition to my 5-piece electric band, I started Miss Freddye’s Homecookin Trio in 2010. An acoustic side of blues! I  perform with both bands around western and central PA, West Virginia &eastern Ohio.

In 2008, my band competed in the West Virginia blues competition, won for the state, and went to the 2009 International blues competition representing the WVBS!

In 2012, I competed in the Blues society of western PA as a duo act with my band mate and guitarist Greg “G-man” Casile, and won! In 2013, we went to Memphis for the IBCs representing BSWPA.

Saturday, July 7, 2018 – 9:30 PM!

The Bo’ Hog Brothers

Pittsburgh’s very own power trio! The Bo’Hog Brothers were formed by three veteran musicians from the Pittsburgh music scene. Our music ranges from Blues and ‘Roots and Rhythm’ to Rockabilly and Texas Swing. We have also incorporated strong improvisational aspects into our music; blending rock, country, blues, and jazz to create our own unique style. Winners of the 2014 Pittsburgh Blues Challenge, the Bo’Hog Brothers have won a local blues challenge and competed in Memphis a total of 5 times, with two different bands. They were members of the 2007 third place winners in Memphis.

Saturday, July 14, 2018 – 9:30 PM!

The Bill Ali Band

Pittsburgh’s Premier Classic Rock Cover band. Longevity might be an understatement to explain the life of one of Pittsburgh’s oldest performing rock legends. For over a period of Forty Four years Mr. Bill Ali (pronounced Bill AL-EYE) has been capturing the hearts and souls of many unsuspecting nightclub owners and fans! Former front man of the ever popular Toast Band one of Pittsburgh’s longest running great rock bands for over 36 years. Bill teamed up with Matt Barranti vocals/ electric guitar one of only ten guitarists in the entire U.S.A to be invited to perform at The Sliders Ball in Macon Georgia, Matt’s work on the bottle neck is a sight to be seen and heard!

Saturday, July 28, 2018 – 9:30 PM!

The Dave Iglar Band

Dave Iglar has built a notable regional reputation as a powerhouse talent of rock n roll over the years with thousands of exciting performances at clubs, festivals, colleges, special events, on radio & TV. His daughter Andrea on sax is a force of nature with Mark on rhytm guitar and bass.

Dave has appeared with a variety of artists, including Roy Buchanan, Dickey Betts (of the Allman Bros), Susan Tedeschi, Johnny and Edgar Winter, Robin Trower, Leon Russell, Jefferson Starship, Taj Mahal, Lyle Lovett, Buddy Guy & others …

Norman Nardini

Pittsburgh Rock Legend Norman Nardini has been performing virtually every week since 1965, not only rocks on, but continues, in his words, “in search of the highest level of music.”

Bon Jovi said that, even with all of his (Bon’s Jovi’s) success, he could have been happy being Norm Nardini. “The motivating factor when you’re a kid is not to sell 100 million records, but just to learn how to write songs and perform them,” Bon Jovi said. “I wouldn’t have known what success of this extent was. I could have been very content to be Norman, play music at his level and Southside Johnny’s level. That’s all we knew existed. I didn’t want to be Zeppelin.”

Bon Jovi refers to his friend as “the epitome of rock ‘n’ roll.”

“Norman lives it and breathes it. The greatest compliment anybody can pay a player is that he lives it. God bless him for it,” he said.

Saturday, August 18, 2018 – 9:30 PM!

Wil E Tri & the Bluescasters Blues

What’s Up My Man?

Wil E. Tri has been steadily laying down the blues as a leader and sideman since the 1970s. When he wasn’t doing that, he ran (and still runs) the stage crew for the majority of shows that passed through Pittsburgh, and these days, through the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust. He has also been credited in several Hollywood movies, most notably, The Mothman Prophecies (2002). All that aside, my man just loves to play the blues!

Bluesman Wil E. Tri is the premiere blues player in the Pittsburgh Area.

Heavily steeped in the tradition of Little Walter, Sonny Boy Williamson, Howlin’ Wolf and Big Golden Wheeler, Wil delivers razor sharp blues harmonica over one of the hardest driving bands in the industry.
